11-Year-Old Girl Dies in Car Crash in Hinds County, Mississippi
The 11-year-old’s mother and two sisters were also involved in the collision though they survived.
Hinds County officials are working to determine the cause of a fatal accident that occurred on Thursday evening on Tank Road in the Terry area. According to WAPT, Shimeka Williams, 36, was driving a white SUV at around 8:00 p.m. with her three daughters inside when the vehicle went off the road. The SUV then rolled several times before it came to a stop in a grassy area.
The impact of the accident caused Williams’ daughter Shanyah, 11, to be ejected from the vehicle and she was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Williams’ other daughter, nine-year-old Maliyah, suffered serious injuries and had to be flown to a nearby hospital. Williams and her 16-year-old daughter, Tramyah were both listed as being in critical condition and also had to be transported to an area hospital.
Investigators are now working to determine what factors played a role in causing the crash to transpire.
