As per police reports, Wise and another person, William Kelly, were travelling on State Highway 146 in a southerly direction in a Ford Transport van. When they reached the intersection between two state highways, SH 146, and SH 105, they were t-boned by a red Toyota Tundra. The passenger side of the Ford was first impacted. The driver of the Tundra has been identified as 47 year old James Barry Jones from Vidor.
The force of the collision was sufficient to send the Ford flipping over until it finally came to a rest almost 300 feet from the point where it was struck. As a result of the accident, Wise was killed on the spot while William Kelly was air lifted to memorial hospital in Houston.
