Akron, OH- Police have arrested a driver for causing a two-vehicle accident last week which left five people including two Akron police officers, suffering moderate to major injuries.
Ohio.com reports that the accident occurred around 3 a.m. June 4th when a motorist, driving a Camaro turned into traffic and crashed into a Ford Explorer, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
Two Akron police officers, who have not been identified, were in the Ford Explorer and were treated at a local hospital before being released later that day.
A passenger in Camaro had to be extricated using the jaws-of-life. All three occupants in the Camaro suffered serious injuries.
Police determined that the driver of the Camaro, 28-year-old Ramon Mendoza III, was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He has been charged with operating under the influence and turning into oncoming traffic, according to Ohio.com.

Even when a person survives a major traffic accident, they will face a long road to recovery and costly medical bills. When their accident is the result of another motorist’s carelessness or disregard for others, they are entitled to compensation for their injuries and emotional distress. But getting the compensation they need is not as easy as it sounds and injury victims need expert legal advice.
Soon after an accident, the victims will likely be approached by the at-fault motorist’s insurance company, hoping to quickly resolve any resulting injury claims. In some cases, the amount of compensation an accident victim is offered will be enough to cover their expenses if their accident was minor. However, if the accident was serious, it would be advantageous for a victim to retain an Ohio accident attorney to work on their injury claim since they understand the overall costs injury victims are facing.
