Contra Costa, CA- A California motorcyclist is presumed dead after he plunged off the Antioch Bridge following a traffic collision last weekend.
KTVU reports that last Sunday around 4:30 p.m. a motorcyclist collided with the rear of a Honda sedan on Antioch Bridge at the highest point. The impact of the crash shatter the rear window of the Honda, spewing glass all over the 41-year-old driver, who was uninjured
That driver of the Honda and other motorists told police they saw the motorcyclist fly over the bridge, and plunge into the rough waters below. The motorcycle sustained major damage.
Witness told the California Highway Patrol that the decease motorcyclist was one among a group of three bikes weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds. Dispatchers received numerous calls about speeding motorcyclists prior to the collision.
A search for the motorcyclist was immediately launched, but after a couple of days the search was called off and the motorcyclist is presumed dead. KTVU learned that the deceased motorcyclist is a 27-year-old man who recently became a father, but his name has not been released publically.
