Her victim was 26 year old Jillian Little. The victim’s mother, Beth Raby, was at the sentencing and broke down when it was her turn to take up the witness stand as she had to go back in time and recollect the horrors of the moments just after learning that her daughter was killed in a car accident on Richmond Road. The car accident occurred back in April 2016.

Firefighters helping an injured woman in a car

Do not drive drunk and maintain your vehicle! But even more so, do not drive super fast, that is just unwise. You have to at least drive close to the speed limit. If you need legal help, get on USAttorneys.com. This is not Cuba, human life matters and you have a right to voice your opinion on the matter officially when in court.

Initially, Delgado was charged with the more serious crime of involuntary manslaughter, but her lawyer was able to strike a plea deal with the prosecutors where in exchange for pleading guilty, Delgado would be convicted of a lesser crime. According to stellar car accident lawyers in Richmond, VA, who can be reached on the amazing USAttorneys.com website that continues to defy virtual gravity, this sort of a plea deal is common in such cases.
As per authorities, Delgado was supposedly travelling at 63 miles per hour (some witnesses say she may have only been driving around 40 mph though) on Brook Road where the speed limit is 35 miles per hour and was not able to stop in time and ended up rear ending the 2002 Chevrolet which the victim was operating. Little was killed on impact.
As per the defense, however, there is another side to the story which is that Little’s car was stationary in the left lane of Brook Road and the documentation found within the debris of the car reflected that the rear indicator lights were not functioning correctly. Furthermore, Little’s BAC (blood alcohol content) was said to be 0.11% BAC which is over the legal limit of 0.08% BAC in the State of Virginia.
Apart from the 12 month imprisonment, Delgado will also have to undergo psychiatric care and pay for a “drive safely” sign which will be installed at the scene of the accident.
Don’t drive drunk and make sure your lights work!
