Driver hits a pole and dies on Interstate 95 near West Palm Beach
Most single car accidents happen due to driver mistakes, but other factors may be present.
A deadly accident on Interstate Highway 95 claimed the life of a 61 year old man in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Palm Beach County driver dies in a single vehicle highway accident
The Florida Highway Patrol received an emergency call to respond to the area of the Woolbright Road exit at about 6:30 pm. They believe that one vehicle was involved in a crash in the northbound lanes of I-95. A preliminary investigation showed that the car went off of the roadway and onto the grass shoulder for an unknown reason. The car struck a pole on the side of the road shortly afterward. Emergency crews pronounced the driver dead at the scene, but they did not disclose whether he was wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened. His vehicle was merely described as a sedan by police after the collision.
The state police did not release the victim’s name due to a provision in Florida’s state constitution that allows the victim’s family to withhold this information. A full investigation was planned for the upcoming days.
Boynton Beach is several miles directly south of the city of West Palm Beach.
What are some factors that may be involved in a single car accident?
There are many things that can cause or contribute to a single car accident. This can include driver errors or distractions, faulty vehicles, sudden health problems, or other drivers who were involved, but left the scene after causing an accident. There can also be road obstacles caused by construction sites, debris, severe weather, and other unsafe conditions. Even if there is only one vehicle involved, it still may be possible to receive compensation through the insurance process or a lawsuit.
How to tell if you can be paid for any accident
At the scene, it is important to contact the police and your insurance provider as soon as possible. This will create a formal record of the incident and some important pieces of evidence. Your insurance company may ask you to take pictures or gather other information for them. After going through the insurance claim process, some collisions may result in severe injuries or other losses that they will not cover. At this point, it is best to speak to a local lawyer who is familiar with your state’s laws and court procedures. They can provide more specific information regarding whether you may prevail in a lawsuit or not.
