The image of the mangled vehicle is sure to leave chills down your spine and you wondering just how did the three teens manage to survive the accident.
The roadway is a dangerous place to be on, regardless of the time of day it might be. While many are under the impression that there are more daytime accidents, many of which are fatal seeing that there are more drivers on the roadway, the nighttime proves to be just as dangerous. WPTV.com and WSVN.com recently reported a horrific accident that occurred in Fort, Lauderdale, FL involving five teens, two of which didn’t survive the accident.
According to Fort Lauderdale Police, the five teens were driving in a 2016 Mazda, which apparently was reported as stolen from Palm Beach Gardens. The driver, who has not been identified, was traveling with the others northbound on I-95 at an increased rate of speed before hitting a barrier wall. Apparently, the driver lost control of the vehicle which resulted in the collision. When officers and emergency medical technicians arrived on scene, one of the teens was reportedly dead and the other four were alive but needed to be extricated from the vehicle.
The four teens were transported to Broward Health Medical Center, all suffering from serious injuries. The teen who died on scene has been identified as 17-year old Latroy Martin and one of the others who was taken to the hospital reportedly didn’t survive the injuries he sustained. According to Martin’s family, the second teen who was taken to the hospital but later died was Latroy Martin’s 14-year old cousin.
While there is still more investigating that needs to be done regarding whether or not the vehicle was stolen, it is always hard on the families to learn that their loved one’s have been injured or were involved in a fatal auto accident.
