An accident that occurred just west of Largo in Indian Rocks Beach Florida injured two people.
Driver goes into beach restaurant causing injuries and property damage
Pinellas County Fire Rescue believes that the suspect’s car went into the front side of the Aloha To Go Barbecue restaurant at about 7 pm on a Saturday night. The storefront is located on Gulf Boulevard in the small shore town.
Witnesses think that the driver made an error and hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes after pulling into the strip mall. Due to the damage and debris, local police responded and roped off the entire area for the rest of the night. One of the store managers was interviewed afterward, and she said she was thankful that most of the staff remained safe. Two workers inside the restaurant were hurt during the crash. The other employees said they would remain vigilant and assist with the investigation as needed.
Police did not release the identities of anyone involved, and no specific information was given about the exact condition of the victims. It is also unknown if the driver responsible will face any criminal charges.
Accidents that cause severe property damage
Property damage occurs after almost all car accidents. While the business owner from this story may have special insurance to cover the losses, it may also be important to discuss the situation with a lawyer who handles motor vehicle accidents. During a consultation, they can give advice regarding whether it is necessary to file a lawsuit, the potential value of the damages, and the probability of success. They can also answer any other questions that are relevant to the process of filing a case and receiving payment after a settlement agreement or jury trial.
Getting payment for injuries
A large part of the civil law is focused on helping people receive payment to treat their injuries after all kinds of incidents. This is a subsection of tort law that is handled by personal injury attorneys. Negligence case essentially allow a lawyer to add up the value of all of the losses caused by the person at fault, whether they are related to medical problems and treatment or property repairs. The purpose of a personal injury lawsuit is to financially put the victim in the situation that they would have been in if the accident never happened. This is why serious accidents often result in very large amounts of compensation, as the costs associated with these types of situations can be astronomical. This is especially true when permanent disabilities or death occur.
