Baton Rouge, LA- A Baton Rouge man is dead after he was seriously injured in a two-vehicle wreck over the weekend.
The accident occurred Sunday, Feb. 22nd in Gonzales on Interstate 10 around 5:15 p.m. According to the Weekly Citizen, 67 year-old Floyd Cox was traveling in his Subaru in the westbound lanes when he was stuck by another vehicle, driven by 27 year-old John Sanchez, which was traveling in the same direction.
Upon impact, Cox’s vehicle went airborne and landed on a grassy median. Although he was properly restrained, Cox suffered fatal injuries.
During questioning Sanchez admitted to police that he was on his way to work and was speeding at the time of the crash, the Weekly Citizen reported. He was charged with one count of reckless operation and one count of driving with a suspended license.
