On Sept. 11th, police responded to a head-on collision on Highway 199 near Cave Junction, Oregon involving a car and a pickup truck. According to Oregon Live, a 24-year-old California man was driving an older model Buick when he attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. After crossing the center line the Buick collided head-on with a Ford pickup.
Three people in the car, all from Contra Costa, California, either died on the scene or on their way to the hospital, Oregon Live reported.  The driver of the Buick suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
The pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries, according to the Daily Pilot.
