Summit, UT- Driving is a complicated task, so is navigating traffic. Passing another motorist is something most drivers do multiple times a day without thinking twice about it. But like any driving task, passing can be dangerous if a careless motorist is behind the wheel. That is the lesson that can be taken from a recent Utah accident that left one person dead, which USAttorneys will discuss here.
The accident occurred in northern Utah, early Monday morning on State Route 68. KSL.com reports that both drivers were traveling in the southbound lanes when one of the vehicles attempted to pass the other, and both collided.
Trooper Cameron Roden of Utah Highway Patrol told KSL.com that after colliding both of the vehicles ran off the road and rolled over. One of the cars came to stop in an adjacent field, and the other car came to stop in the road.
Motorists should pay careful attention when passing another car.

None of the three individuals in the two vehicles were wearing their seatbelts, and they were all ejected. The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people involved suffered critical injuries and were airlifted to the hospital.
Police are not sure which vehicle struck the other, but their investigation continues. They aren’t sure if alcohol or speed were involved.
This accident just shows that under the wrong circumstances, even the most routine driving task can have deadly consequences. It also highlights the dangers of not wearing a safety belt.
Motorists pass each other all of the time without incident, but it only takes a second for a routine action to turn into a dangerous or deadly one. There is a traffic collision in Utah every nine minutes, according to the Office of Traffic Safety for the Utah Department of Public Safety.
