Two neighboring towns of Rodeo and Crockett were both issued with Public Health Advisories by the County Health Department after a fire burst out on Sunday which affected the Phillips 66 refinery as reported by contracostatimes.com.

The fire ignited late afternoon on Sunday at the refinery which is located in the 1300 block of San Pablo Avenue. Responders included members of both the refinery fire staff and the Rodeo-Hercules fire district fire fighters. Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the incident. However, investigators are still unable to determine the cause of the accident and are still investigating and Contra Costa, CA accident lawyers are staying in tune as well.
The Contra Costa County health department released a statement advising persons with respiratory issues or allergies to stay indoors as much possible for the following few days. The warning also instructed that anyone affected by the air and experiencing irritation should rinse the affected parts of their bodies thoroughly with water. The last time a fire occurred in the area was three years ago, on June 15th, 2012, when a leak from a sour tank filled the surrounding air with a nasty odor.
Antioch decedent identified by investigators
A crash that occurred on Wednesday in Contra Costa County on Highway 24 resulted in the death of one person. The decedent has now been identified by authorities as 23 year old David Sotelo, according to a contracostatimes.com report.
Sotelo was said to have been operating a 2002 gold Buick and was travelling in an easterly direction on Highway 24 when he attempted to change lanes and had a close shave with a car to his left. Sotelo over-corrected and clipped another car to his right which sent his Buick drifting out of control until it hit an embankment, became airborne and toppled over.
Not wearing seat belt
Investigations revealed that Sotelo had not donned his seat belt at the time of the crash and was hence thrown out of the tumbling vehicle. Not even the best Contra Costa, CA accident attorneys can do anything about that. California Highway Patrol officers that responded to the call attempted to resuscitate Sotelo but to no avail. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead.

Auto accident and personal injury claims in California – why you need a qualified attorney by your side
Laws governing accidents and personal injuries in the state of California are extensive and complex. It therefore takes a veteran Contra Costa, CA accident attorney, and there are many of them found right here, to be able to navigate through the legal proceedings and successfully file and claim damages on behalf of their clients.
Even though the laws are extensive, all Californian residents with a driver’s permit should educate themselves about the statute of limitations and the shared fault laws imposed in California. Basically, the statute of limitations implies that a claim needs to be filed within two years from the date of the accident otherwise the claim will be dismissed.
