Pieces of a Jeep are Left Strewn Across the Highway After a Fatal Car Crash in Florida

A Closer Look at Seattle's Troublesome Highway Exit

An innocent man’s life was taken on May 24th in what sources are calling a “horrifically violent” car crash. NorthEscambia.com reported that the driver of a Jeep Patriot had been heading south on Highway 29 at Canoe Creek when he crossed the median and crashed into an oncoming Buick Enclave. Inside that Buick sat a 67-year-old male and a 62-year-old female.

After the two vehicles collided, the Buick came to rest on its side in a ditch and the front of the Jeep exploded, “leaving the front wheels, engine compartment, and engine in the median and debris spread across a large area of the southbound side of Highway 29.” The parts of the Jeep that remained intact came to rest upside down on the shoulder of the southbound lanes.

The driver of the Jeep, who has been identified as a 19-year-old male from McDavid, managed to crawl out of the wreckage and was said to have only suffered minor injuries. He allegedly told bystanders that he thinks he fell asleep behind the wheel. Sadly, the 67-year-old male in the Buick died at the scene of the accident. The 62-year-old female passenger survived, however, she had to be transported to a hospital in Pensacola in critical condition.

The news source says that the Century and McDavid stations of Escambia Fire Rescue, Escambia County EMS, and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the accident. Officials are still working to determine what caused the fatal crash to transpire.
