The driver and front-seat passenger were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. An 18-year-old man in the back seat was pronounced dead on the scene, NBC 4i reported.
The driver of the truck told police he took his eyes off the road for a few seconds prior to colliding with the Honda. He also told police he was not sure if there were cars in front of him or behind him, giving rise to suspicious that he may have been intoxicated.
The driver who struck the Honda also submitted to a chemical test, but it will take several weeks before police will get the results.
