Last month, a man lost his arm after a drunken driver struck him on University Ave. According to reports the injured man was at an intersection when the driver of a pickup truck ran and red light and slammed into his car, causing it to overturn.
The victim’s overturned car slid along the road on the driver’s side. When emergency crews arrived they found outside his vehicle, bleeding profusely from his arm. The 56 year-old man was rushed to the hospital in serious condition and police said he will likely lose his arm, according to U-T San Diego.
Police arrested the driver of the pickup and charged him with felony driving under the influence.

That accident took place during the tail end of rush hour at about 6:59 p.m. on Nov. 6th on Interstate 805 when a black SUV and a silver sedan collided in the HOV lanes, resulting in one fatality, FOX 5 reported. Because of the accident, four lanes of the intestate were closed.
Police said speed is believed to be a factor in the accident.
