Toddler Dies from Injuries Suffered in a Multi-Vehicle Accident in Ridgeland, Mississippi

Fatalities in Two Distinct Fort Worth Accidents, According to Police

It was during the early evening hours on June 2nd when a serious multi-vehicle car accident occurred in Ridgeland, MS. Three vehicles had been involved in a collision on County Line Road near Avery Boulevard, reports the Madison County Journal. When officials arrived at the scene, which was around 7:43 p.m., they found a 22-month old child “falling in and out of consciousness.”

Officials had the child transported by medical personnel to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital where she later died. Police also determined that the driver of the vehicle the child was in was her mother. The 22-year-old female driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the University of Mississippi’s Medical Center for treatment.

Ridgeland Police Lt. Tony Willridge said that during the initial investigation, it was determined that the child was secured in a child restraint seat that was placed on the rear passenger side of the vehicle. Police are now in the process of investigating “the manner in which the seat was secured in the vehicle” as well as the cause of the accident. The driver and occupants of the other vehicles involved were not injured.

What is the first step a parent should take after their child was involved in a car accident in Jackson, MS?

If your child was recently involved in a car accident in Jackson, MS, it’s best that you have a medical professional evaluate their condition to determine what injuries, if any, they suffered as a result of the accident.
