Personal injury claim
Akron, OH- Two Akron police officers were injured late Sunday night when their patrol car was rear-ended on South Main Street.
ABC 5 reports that the two officers were on patrol on South Main Street and traveling in the left lane when they were struck.
The police report states that the driver of a Hyundai was traveling in the center lane when they attempted to make a left turn onto East Crosier Street and slammed into the front of the police cruiser.  The patrol car then began to fishtail and spun out of control only coming to a stop after it struck a utility pole.
Both officers suffered minor injuries and were checked out at a local hospital. They were released shortly after the collision.
ABC 5 reports that neither the Hyundai driver nor passenger were injured in the collision. The driver was however cited for improper left turn.
The driver responsible for this accident is fortunate that the two officers were not seriously injured or killed like many Ohio accident victims.
