New Orleans, LA- A 26-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after she crashed into the New Orleans Convention Center and made a U-turn in the lobby.
NOLA.com reports that around 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning a female motorist traveling on Calliope Street lost control of her vehicle and slammed through the glass doors of the Convention Center which a was closed at the time.
After slamming into a building, most of us would stop and back out, but that’s not this driver.  She was in so she just made a U-turn in the Hall G lobby then exited the building where she struck a wall. The building and the woman’s Toyota incurred significant and costly damage according to police.
New Orleans Police said the woman, who has been identified as 26-year-old Irina Palushina, suffered minor injuries. She was later tested to determine if she was on drugs of alcohol, but police have not released the results of those tests.
Palushina was charged with reckless driving, careless operation and driving while intoxicated, according to NOLA.com.
